Can the government force a doctor in private practice to accept Federal or State insurance plans?

Generally every doctor signs on to which insurance plans they will accept patients from and will file the paperwork on your behalf, accept the payments that insurance company has negotiated. If you have an insurance that they don’t accept you have to pay the bill in full and then submit that to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIPP, etc.

And they can’t force a doctor to perform any procedure he does not want to.

Socializing healthcare is going to reduce the quality greatly, no matter what anyone tells you. Its human nature, and if a doctor knows he cannot be sued anymore, he’s going to have a completely different approach to what he will, and will not do.
